Legal basis
We process personal data based on our legitimate interest: enabling the services Casadeau is designed for, such as drawing names, sharing wish lists, and keeping users informed.
Your privacy, our commitment
Casadeau safeguards your privacy in the following ways:
- We only process personal data that is necessary for our service
- We never sell your data. Only with your permission do we share data with Meta and Google, to measure what our ads deliver
- We use your email address for communication from Casadeau. With permission for marketing cookies we send it encrypted (hashed) to Meta
- Without your permission we only place cookies that are needed to make the site work
- We only place cookies from Google and Meta after your permission
- All pages are secured with SSL/HTTPS encryption
Analytics
Casadeau uses Google Analytics to see how the site is used. Those insights help us improve the website. This is how we handle your privacy in doing so:
- We only place analytics cookies after your permission
- Without permission, only signals without cookies go to Google
- A data processing agreement with Google
- Masking of the last part of your IP address
- With permission for marketing cookies we share data with Google for ad measurement
- You can change your choice at any time through Cookie settings at the bottom of the page
Cookies and marketing technologies
We use three kinds of cookies. On your first visit you choose which ones you allow:
- Necessary: signing in, your lists and your cookie choice. Always on
- Analytics: Google Analytics, to see how Casadeau is used
- Marketing: the Meta Pixel and the Conversions API, later Google Ads
- With marketing permission we share with Meta: your hashed email address, IP address, browser details, the click id of the ad, and that you signed up, requested a brand page or created or shared a list
- In the iOS app we share nothing with Meta
- On your first visit you choose "Reject all", "Accept all" or per category. You can change it at any time through Cookie settings at the bottom of the page
Notifications in the app
If you use the Casadeau app on your iPhone and turn on notifications:
- We store a device token for your device: a code from Apple that lets us send a notification to exactly that device. We store it only with your consent, linked to your account
- We only send notifications about your own friends, lists, name draws and promotions you take part in, never advertising
- Apple (Apple Push Notification service) delivers the notifications; for that Apple receives the token and the text of the notification, and nothing else
- You turn notifications off in the app under Profile, Notifications, or in the iOS settings. When you log out or delete your account we delete the token
Required personal data
Security & data protection
Casadeau protects your data in the following ways:
- We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to secure your data
- Personal data is stored in a secure environment and only accessible to authorized Casadeau staff when necessary
- We do not store personal data longer than needed
- When data is no longer required, it is anonymized
Liability
Casadeau has been developed with great care. However, no rights can be derived from its use. Casadeau accepts no liability for the website not functioning correctly, functioning incorrectly, or for messages that are not delivered or delivered late.
Automated decision-making & profiling
To personalize gift suggestions, Casadeau uses automated decision-making (including profiling) based on your personal data. This helps us provide relevant gift ideas and increases the chance that you receive a gift that truly suits you.
Gift ideas & external links
Casadeau is free to use thanks to support from our partners. We display relevant gift ideas for your celebration. When you click a link, you are redirected to a partner's webshop. The use of external websites, including ordering gifts, falls outside Casadeau's responsibility.

Deleting data
The person who created a group can remove participants (names and email addresses) or delete the entire group at any time.

You also have the right to receive the personal data you provided to Casadeau in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format (data portability).
